The Working Group

The dogs of the working breed were bred to perform such jobs as guarding property, pulling sleds, and performing mountain and water rescue. These dogs have served humanity throughout the ages often rescuing or protecting and saving lives.

The Working group- servants of their human companions:

Sharing sheepdog roots, this group has it origins in the ancient dogs that not only guarded livestock, but while the master was away also fiercely stood watch over the women and children. In wartime, these dogs even fought as four legged soldiers and often functioned in rescue assist roles. This training spilled over to civilian life where many of these breeds continue in search and rescue roles on water and on snow and throughout the world. These dogs posses an instinctive sense of duty and devotion and form extremely loyal bonds to their handlers and families and caretakers. Today, many of the working breed function as police dogs and property and family guard dogs. These wonderful animals are truly the servants of mankind and deserve loving care and support after their working years come to an end.
