The Terrier Group

The Terrier's are feisty and energetic dogs whose size ranges from fairly small to as large as the Grand Terrier. Terriers generally do not interact well with other animals, including other dogs. The ancestors of the Terrier breed were bred to hunt and kill vermin. Most of the Terrier breed have a wiry coat and require special care to properly maintain them. Terrier's make engaging pets and will require owners who can provide determination and find outlets to match their lively energy and character.

In general, dogs used to hunt large animals are known as hounds, while dogs used to hunt small game are known as terriers.
