Affenpinscher:
In German, Affenpinscher means "monkey like terrier".
This breed is descended from small terriers that worked as
ratters in European stables and stores during the 18th century.
This dog is balanced, little and wiry haired. Affenpinschers
are sturdy, intelligent and game. Their intelligence and demeanor
make them a good house pet.

Afghan Hound:
This breed originated in region of today's Afghanistan. These
wonderful dogs are known to run down mountain deer, plains
antelope and wild hare. The Western world was first exposed
to this breed when British military officers and others brought
Afghan Hounds home after the Indian-Afghanistan border wars
of the late 19th century. The Afghan Hound has a straight
front, a proudly carried head and eyes that gaze into the
distance. The Afghan Hound is truly an aristocrat and the
appearance of dignity and aloofness.

Airedale Terrier:
This breed descended from the Broken-Haired or Old English
Terrier. Airdale's have hunted game in Africa, India, Canada
and America. This breed is known for a sweet nature and as
they mature may exhibit a certain aloofness and dignity in
the company of other dogs and strangers. Mostly, the Airdale

Akita:
This breed is one of seven that is designated as natural
monuments in its native country of Japan. Akita's have been
bred as versatile hunting dogs in the rugged mountians of
Japan. The Akita is known for a great combination of dignity,
good nature, courage and docility.

Alaskan Malamute:
This breed is one of the oldest arctic sled dog breeds. It
was named for the Mahlemuts, an Inuit tribe that settled along
the shores of Kotzebue Sound in upper western Alaska. These
dogs are powerful and substantially built, well muscled and
are tireless and well balanced. The Malamute is structured
for strength and endurance. They will bond well to the entire
family and are good with children, but in general do not make
great watchdogs.

American Eskimo Dog:
This breed, contrary to popular belief, is not descended
from the working sled dog breeds. These dogs are always white
or white with a biscuit cream. The American Eskimo dog is
a loving companion dog and presents strngth, agility, alertness
and beauty. This breed do to its superior intelligence was
a favorite among circus performers of the early 20th century.

American Stafforshire Terrier:
This breed originated as a decentdant from a cross between
terriers and the old-style Bulldog. This breed began to appear
in America around 1870 where they were know as the Pit dog
or Pit Bull Terrier. The American Staffordshire Terrier is
an intelligent, docile breed that can be trained to live and
interact peacably with other dog breeds. They are an excellent
guardian and they protect their master's property with dilligence
and authority.

Anatolian Shepard Dog:
This Anatolian Shepard is a guardian breed with its origin
in Turkey. The breed is likely more than 6000 years old and
served Turkish shepard's as the front line defence against
predators attacking their flocks. The breed is best charactorized
by loyalty, independance and hardiness. They first came to
the United States around 1950. This dog is large, rugged,
powerful and imressive in appearance.

Australian Cattle Dog:
This breed is part of what is known as the "herding
group". The Australian Cattle Dog was developed by Australian
land owner ranchers who needed help in grazing cattle on their
vast open lands. The breed has a resemblance to the Dingo
and is naturally suited to the conditions of the country.
They bost the quiet heeling ability and the stamina of the
Dingo while retaining the faithful protectiveness of the Dalmation.
This dog is sturdy, compact and symmetrically built. The Australian
Cattle Dog empitomizes power, balance and great strenght and
agility. They are extremely alert, intelligent and courageous
and trustworthy making them an ideal dog.

Australian Terrier:
This was the first Australian breed to be recognized and
shown in its native Australia. The Australian Terrier is one
of the smallest of the working terriers. This breed is fast,
sturdy, rough and fearless. They make wonderful pets and are
high spirited, self assured and inquisative. The breed will
generally adapt well to all climates and terrain and with
its acute hearing and fine eyesite they make wonderful watchdogs.
